Community Garden
Small Oasis
Located near the forest behind New Life Community Church is a small oasis in God’s creation. We hope that the community garden will serve our neighborhood by providing a gathering place to connect with others, work together, grow food, and enjoy the beauty and wonder of creation.
Come by Anytime
The garden space contains 14 full sized plots, a herb garden, a patio with table and chairs, a tool shed and a bench. Feel free to come and enjoy the space on a sunny day.
Membership
The registration fee is $20 for a half plot (4’ x 8’) or $35 for a full plot (4’ x 16’). Student or low/fixed income rates are also available, as the fee is not intended to be a barrier to participation. We encourage all members to help maintain the communal space by coming to help on garden work days, several times a year.

Gleaner's Closet
New name for the Free Store
We are excited to announce the re-opening of the Free Store with a new name: Gleaner’s Closet opening on April 30th. Open on Saturdays (except on long weekends) from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM to everyone who needs children’s items.
The idea of naming our ministry Gleaner’s Closet comes from the book of Ruth in the Bible where a lady named Ruth moves to a foreign land for survival. By God’s provision, Ruth is allowed to glean and pick up grain for free.
Mission Statement:
As God graciously loved and provided for Ruth, we as a church want to exemplify God’s love by sharing resources (children’s clothing and items) with our community. Gleaner’s closet is more than a place for children’s items but a place where you can connect, build relationships, and have the freedom to talk about God, life, and pray together.
Support The Free Store
Donate clean, gently used items for children. Donations can be dropped off at the west entrance of the Greenhouse behind New Life Community Church. Do not donate household items, outdated car seats, TVs, furniture, etc. Whenever possible please drop off donations during store hours.
Volunteer
There are 3 ways to volunteer in this ministry:
1) Volunteers needed to sort and organize donated items on Wednesdays
2) Volunteers needed to assist and interact with clients on Saturdays
3) Volunteers are needed in the Prayer Tent. To pray for and with clients who want prayer.

Closed on Long Weekends

Missions
Mission is an integral part of New Life’s vision.
A sizable portion of our budget is dedicated to local and global initiatives that support a variety of causes, such as poverty and disaster relief, outreach, and education. This is done through supporting both established organizations and missionary families.
The church’s decisions and direction in this ministry are overseen by a missions committee of church members. For a detailed document that provides further information about this ministry, please contact the church office.

Mission Groups
Everyone is welcome to attend.
DAGESTAN ACTION GROUP
Meets to pray for the Republic of Dagestan, specifically keeping the Dargin people group in mind.
FIRST NATIONS MINISTRY TEAM
New Life has a relationship with a community in Kyuquot, BC, and a team visits once a year.
REFUGEE ACTION COMMITTEE
During the last five years RAC has helped bring 16 refugees to Canada. Our work has included a lot of paperwork, fundraising, gathering household goods and furniture, legal support, physical support, lobbying government, and many other ways to help these families successfully settle in Canada. Throughout all of this, friendships have developed, which has been such a gift to those of us involved in this ministry.
As a committee, we are at the point where we need to make some decisions on our criteria for who we can realistically help moving forward. The process and commitment for helping refugees takes time and we are hoping that by broadening our team we will be better equipped to continue serving in this capacity.
Would you consider joining RAC and helping us with this work? If you are interested or would like more information please reach out to Katherine Adachi at [email protected].
Prayer Ministries
Developing Our Relationship with God
Like any relationship, sometimes communicating with God involves talking openly about what is on one’s heart, and other times it involves listening. Or perhaps it involves sitting quietly and enjoying God’s presence.
Prayer Groups
New Life hosts a number of prayer gatherings throughout the week, such as small group intercessions, prayer walks, and large group listening prayer. If you are new to our church community and feel that you are in need of prayer, one of our prayer team is always on hand following our Sunday morning service. If you are interested in more information or in taking part in one of the prayer initiatives at New Life Community Church, please contact the church office.

Sunday School
For Children & Youth From Nursery Up To Grade 12.
New Life Community Church has Sunday school classes for children and youth from nursery up through Grade 10
. On Sunday morning, families worship together until the children and youth are released from the Worship Service at about 10:30.
In the smaller classes, the students get to know their peers as they study through a solid Bible curriculum with our Sunday school teachers. In the summer, the students all meet in one large class.
Besides attending classes, the students also help to raise money for various offering projects (for example, sponsoring a cow for a family in Syria).
There are many opportunities to be involved in the Sunday school ministry at New Life. Drop in and have a look around to see what God is doing in our community.
When: Sunday, 10:30-11:30am

Young Adults at New Life Community Church
NLCC Young Adult Ministry.
We are a group of young adults (ranging from ages 17-26) who meet together to recognize who God is and to grow in relationship with Him, not just on Sunday nights but throughout the week with encouragement and accountability from each other. We strive to rediscover the joy of the Gospel and let that work in our hearts. Currently we meet every Sunday evening at 7 pm to study God’s word and have fellowship. Every last Sunday of the month we have an event to grow in our relationship with each other (our “fun nights”). For more information on the young adult ministry please contact Sarah Edwards at saedwards2000 at gmail.com
